Audi’s first-ever Audi Q8 is set to be revealed in a week from now (on June 5), giving Audi a genuine rival to the likes of BMW’s X6 and Mercedes’s GLE Coupe. There’s certainly no shortage of teasers for the Q8 as aside from the usual shadowy images and official sketches, Audi also has a video series consisting of five episodes (three released so far) for its flagship SUV. Today, a pretty revealing design illustration has been published on the company’s main Facebook global page and it allows us to take a good look at the front end design.
Seeing the concept of the Q8 last year, you could guess that Audi’s flagship crossover will not be much different from it. And, perhaps the most obvious innovation compared to other Audi models is the updated radiator grille with six vertical bars.
The four rings company repeats that the Q8 adopts a new design inspired by the legendary Quattro of the 80s. The design of the front of the car looks pretty bold and makes the appearance of the SUV impressive. Numerous folds on the hood, high-tech LED lights and a thick silver grille frame all contribute to the unique appearance of the Q8.
The new Q8 will use the same platform as Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga, Audi Q7 and the new Volkswagen Touareg. The interior is not shown to us yet, but spy images from last year say that the look of the dashboard and center console will have a lot in common with the trio of high-end Audi models A8, A7 and A6.
All will be revealed in exactly one week from today, on June 5, during the Audi China Brand Summit Shenzhen event held in Shanghai.
