BMW presented the long-awaited 8-series coupe in mid-June, and the two-door went into production the vary next month. But this is only one part of the return of the 8-series: soon there will be a four-door “eight-series”, a cabriolet and super-powerful modifications of M.

According to Harald Kruger, who spoke during a recent conference call, “Within the new 8 series model range, production of the new BMW 8 Series Coupé is already underway. The market launch is scheduled for November. This will be followed in 2019 by the Convertible and Gran Coupé, as well as the corresponding M models.”

So with the coupe already revealed in both M850i and 840d specs, we can expect the convertible and four-door Gran Coupe body styles to launch with the same. And once the M models are rolled out, we’ll be looking at no fewer than nine versions to flesh out the 8 Series family – all before the end of 2019. And don’t be surprised to see additional engine variants offered as well.

Kruger also confirmed that we’ll get to see the Z4, X7, and the M8 Coupe in the months to come. Not only that, a new (and probably electric) iNEXT concept car will be unveiled later this year.

“As you can see, we are moving at full speed in the main regions of the world with innovative technologies and new products. We continue to follow our clear strategic plan and remain very flexible, “concludes Kruger.
